Blooper Reel

Saturday is here and time to roll out the old Blooper Reel of photos I took through the week, but didin’t have room to post. Have a great Saturday and we’ll see you tomorrow for Cheeseburger Saturday Night, from Newark, New Jersey no less!

Looks like Matt Lauer is moonlighting these days. Must've had to take a pay cut at the Today Show. Times are tough all over!

Those are sure low prices for kids, but as tempting as it is, I think I'll pass. They always turn into teens and then you really pay the price.

Didn't they hear I stopped doing MAD?

Nova!

Last week when I did my "Dueling Bathrooms" post, someone commented that subway bathrooms are the worst toilets in town. I commented back that I had never been in a subway bathroom, but later that day when I went to Economy Candy, I got off at Delancey Street and...

Baboom! I ran right into a men's room at the station, so I thought I'd check it out.

Not the cleanest in the world, but definitely a step up from the public library.

The toilets a little dirty and there's the mandatory stale urine floating in it, but still, not as bad as the library toilet.

However, if you need to sit down to do your business, you're in trouble. Stranded, branded, stranded on a toilet bowl...what do you do when you're stranded...and you can't find a roll?

When I went to the Impossible Project Space last week, there was a Photobooth and I can never resist a Photobooth, but I didn't have room to post it in that post.

So here it is now. I feel old because it used to be "Four for a Quarter" at these things and now it's "Four for Four Bucks."

S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y NIGHT!

Surprise link, click on it...I dare you!

I LOVE photobooths
I have stacks and stacks of photobooth pics from my past.
They are a reminder of times.
a capture of a few seconds of goofiness
no matter how serious you'd try and be you always laugh when it's over.

@Mykola Mick Dementiuk: You're welcome, hope it sells lots of copies! And personally, I celebrate, "Whatever."

@Bobby D: I cracked up over the Matt Lauer photo too! Maybe it's his evil twin!

@Gidget: I can never pass up a Photobooth either! I've seen some of your Photobooth pictures at your blog and they're great! You should post more of them!

HA! Marty I did without you having asked me!
I'll find them all this week...

In regards to the 'stranded' photo; "HA HA!" - Nelson the bully from 'The Simpsons'.
Okay, fess up Marty...what were you drinking and how much of it before you got into that photo booth? Geese, what a wastrel.....

@Gidget: Ha, that’s too funny, just saw it and put up a bonus link and here’s another one! Going over to comment now!

@Jaws: No booze in the Photo Booth. If they had booze there I probably would've never left!

I remember back in the early eighties "Fantasy" being played a lot on MTV. Video was pretty cool. I really liked that song and Aldo Nova I thought was going to be a huge star. He kind of faded, though he still performs. Kind of like in the sixties, similar to Keith with his 98.6.

The Delancey bathroom did the time warp again. Reminds me of this. Anyway, you're a brave man.
Yo. Adrienne!

April 7, 2012 | Unregistered Commentercsp

@Al: Yeah, Aldo star faded fast! I forgot all about Keith and 98.6!

@csp: Great clip, I haven't seen that in years! Yo!

April 7, 2012 | Registered CommenterTripping With Marty

Despite the gross urine and no TP, that Delancey bathroom is the cleanest I've seen in the subway. Which line is that?

April 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterGoggla

Didn't have MTV during that time period, but the Aldo Nova song sounds like it could be used on talk radio programs as bumper music.

Four for four bucks is a ripoff, but Marty is involved so it is a bargain. Happy Easter.

April 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterDaveW

@Goggla: It was the F train, I thought it was pretty decent for a subway bathroom myself.

@DaveW: Thanks for the kind words! Happy Easter to you and yours, the TMW Easter celebration will be up on Monday!

I Actually know the owner of that photo-booth & he was a major partner & contributor to The Imposable Project !
I was going to get involved with them as well & had meetings with him since I have a very large collection of Polaroid Sx-70's & 600 Photograms that I made threw the years!!, but I was in the process of moving & didn't have time.I still have outdated 600 & Type 65 film left & have to use them soon or they will not work any more !!!
I did also owned at least 5 Folding type Polaroid Cameras, but sold them to get money for my move.
There was a Recording Booth in The Empire State Building Observatory during the 70's that would give you a 45 size Record of your voice or what ever sound you made, which I did make a Record when I visit on a school trip to the observatory.

The stranded on a toilet bowl came from an Old TV show Branded, & I remember all the kids at school knew this parody song & went viral way before the internet was invented !

Wow, a trifecta Marty post. First, I didn't think you were quite old enough to know that parody of the theme to 'Branded,' the old 60s show starring Chuck Connors (post-'Rifleman'), but I guess you are. Or did it reemerge farther down the line somewhere? Anyway, I cracked up when I saw it.

Second, love the photo booth, but there are working, open rest rooms in the subway??? I thought those were all still closed....guess I'm not be observant. Used to be at practically every station until the 70s spiral, didn't know they had reopened a few.

Third, I had that book in the Surprise Link when I was a kid!!! Kept it for years and years, think I finally ditched it when I moved to the city and decided only hardcovers were worth taking along. Haven't thought of that book in many moons, thanks for the blast!

April 8, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterdark1p

@JHWang: Now that you mention it, I remember you talking about it at work. Cool that you got to meet people involved with the project.

@dark1p: Sadly, yes, I am old enough to remember Branded! I didn't think there was open bathrooms anymore in the subway, till I got a couple comments after I did the dueling bathrooms post and the next day I found that one! And that's too funny that you had that book, glad it stirred up a memory or two for you!
