Rodeo Bar...

Starring Susquehanna Industrial Tool & Die Co!

Last December when I was blogging at MAD, I went to go see the band Susquehanna Industrial Tool & Die Co. My friend Jon Hammer plays guitar and sings harmony in this trio who specialize in ballads, boogies and blues and it was a great show. They’re playing tonight at the Rodeo Bar, so I’ve decided that that’s tonight’s destination. Showtime is 9 PM, so I figure we’ll go a little early and scope the bar out first.

Here's the Rodeo Bar in all it's neon glory!

And there they are in the window, Susquehanna Industrial Tool & Die Co. Ouch, my fingers already are cramping up typing their name!

The bar is full, but I managed to squeeze in...

And get a beer from the lovely and friendly bartender, Ash.

The top of the bar is adorned with vintage license plates.

There's a full dining area in the front of the bar.

The place is done up in a Southern roadhouse fashion.

And there's vats of peanuts all over the joint!

And you're free to throw the shells on the floor.

The back room has a converted bus as a bar.

And pretty bartender Ania is on duty inside the bus and serves up another beer and simultaneously flashes the TWM card. She's a multi-tasker!

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome, Susquehanna Industrial Tool & Die Co!

Right as the band begins, I'm joined at my table by Karen McBurnie. She and Jon write, design and publish the fine blog, Grade "A" Fancy.

From left: Garth on bass and harmonies, Michael on lead vocals and guitar and Jon on rhythm guitar and harmonies. The band plays great tunes and puts out an incredibly full sound for a trio without a drummer. And the onstage banter between the band and the audience between songs is hilarious.

I'm not the only one taking photos.

Here's Michael in the middle of one of his guitar solos. He's one of the best guitarists I've ever heard and a great front man for the band.

Here's a couple dancing to the music in the back of the room.

And this group of unruly fellows were dubbed, "The Uranus Boys," by the band. You had to be there!

And there's a costume change towards the end of the set, as the band dons vintage hot dog caps.
