Q Train
It's long trip out to Coney Island and even longer going back. Here's a few shots of my trip.
We're taking the Q train, Coney Island bound!
Nice to see someone reading, as opposed to...
Mindlessly staring at a texting device.
Goodbye Manhattan...
Hello, Coney Island!
And we're off, next stop, the Boardwalk, see you in a little bit!

Has anyone here seen the 1953 short film by Morris Engel called “Little Fugitive”? It’s about this little kid who thinks he accidentally killed his brothers so he runs off to Coney Island. Its worth checking out; and has great footage of Coney Island in the early 1950’s.
Here’s a link with a short clip from the film:

Well, there's always the sharks at the aquarium.
Beautiful day! Perfect for Coney. Hope someone is selling beer on the boardwalk!
@Martin: I've seen that movie and it's fabulous! Great footage from Coney Island! Thanks for the linkage!
@csp: Better in the aquarium than Wall Street!
@Spike: None on the Boardwalk, but I think I'll wind the day up at Nathan's and I'm pretty sure there'll be beer there! Big beers to boot!
About 15 years ago on AMC, when there were no commercials playing at the time, I saw Little Fugitive quite a few times. When he wandered on the empty beach with his sack looking for bottles it hinted at what you were going to do....lazing away and letting the days drift on by. Enjoy, life is too, too short... ;)
I love the giant beers 46 (?) oz beers at Nathan's. I always bring a same sized plastic Coca-Cola cup that they sell there as well, and pour my beer into that, then head to the boardwalk/beach. No one's the wiser! Much harder to buy a beer on the beach these days with the po-lice handing out tickets and scaring off the entrepeneurs selling Corona's out of their knapsacks!
@Spike: I do the same thing in the city. I keep bottle's of Snapple and fill them with beer so I can walk around the city and have a beer while I do so. I miss the days when brown-bagging was allowed!
Always loved going to the beach in the winter!
@mattyanza: I hear you and it help's that it's not freezing cold today!
I love that new Gehry building! Last time I was walking across the bridge, I was so mesmerized that I almost fell into the water. Luckily, the GEICO gecko saved me.
Product placement commission, please.
@Biff: Hopefully the check is in the mail! We'll cash it in on your next trip out here!
